Matthew 10:16 says , " Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves."
John 15:19 says, " If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
In short, we can expect the world to be hostile towards us, yet we are to love them as Jesus loves them. How can we be wise as serpents, harmless as doves and love those who hate us? Sometimes it can feel like we're an elephant walking a tightrope. It would take a miracle to accomplish. Well, it's a good thing we know the Father of miracles!
Keeping Your Balance
Wisdom.:':.Meekness
Being humble or meek doesn't mean being a punching bag or a doormat. Turning the other cheek doesn't mean we allow people to beat us up.
Wisdom = Seeing things from God's point of view and acting in accordance with Him.
Meekness = Yielding our rights to God so He can demonstrate His peace and power through us.
So the next time someone mocks you, realize that they are not against you, they are against God and He will deal with them. We belong to God and He always takes care of His stuff.
The challenge in keeping your balance is in knowing God's will for you. The way to know His will is to spend a lot of time with Him and get to know Him even more. Then when the rough spots creep up (and they will!), you will already be in the place where He can use you best. Trust Him.

Know Where To Put Your Faith
Walk on water much? Faith is not just something you believe, it's a call to act on what you believe. Sure, Peter believed that Jesus could walk on water, and he believed that Jesus would give him the power to walk on water, but until Peter actually took that first step off the boat and onto the water, it was all just a theory.
We are commanded to go and tell others about Jesus. Sometimes it's hard not to! You know how you have that great day and blessing after blessing just pours from heaven? How can you not tell your friends, family and well, just everyone, how good God really is?
Scared? Embarrassed? Nervous? Shy? God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and power and a sound mind. So speak your mind. Share your heart. Show God's power in y our life. Love the world. Walk on water. Remember, it was when Peter became afraid and started looking at the waves that he began to sink. Don't focus on your fears. Focus on God's blessing and let Him speak through you.
